I traveled Hokkaido in July with my brother. The Basic campervan was way above basic. The base car was highest grade minivan. So the engine was super quiet and powerful. It was quiet enough to sleep with the engine turned-on (We did not need to. Hokkaido summer is not so hot). The aircon was also very powerful and had many ducts. We tried to sleep with engine and aircon on. It did not spend as much petrol as I expected. Nari told us it's about 1 litter per hour if car is not running.
On the trip we saw 5 bears. We are so happy we really found them. And the view we saw in the mornings were spectacular. There were so many recommended spots in travel information Nari provided. And all recommendation we tried was fantastic spot to sleep. Waking up in the great view is the best on holidays.
I will definitely rent campervans again. This made me feel to build one at home.
Highest recommendation. Best trip ever!

Staying in a campervan in a ski resort is not for the faint hearted however Nari made our stay amazingly comfortable.... A huge pile of blankets plus the world's best sleeping bags meant that even as the temperatures plummeted we could be snug without having the heating on. When we did need some heat, the on board heater was super powerful. Nari gave us information on all the hokkaido ski resorts, just a shame we didn't have enough time to try many. This option is for those people that are so dedicated to get that first lift in the morning..... I don't think you could get anymore ski in/out than camping in the ski lift car park

Narihito picked us up from the airport, we arrived at a very inconvenient time so that was well appreciated. The campervan is nice and it's quite an experience to stay in. The night we slept in the campervan it was -18celcius so pretty cold. Luckily the blankets and sleeping bags Narihito provided did there job an kept us warm during the night. You can also use the heater but it is not necessary during the night. Next time I want to do a roundtrip with this campervan beast!
